Behind each work of art is a group of people whose voices aim to be amplified and spoken by the art. It no longer simply speaks to me and those geographically adjacent to them. After publication, the art speaks to everyone else with the hope of bringing about a change in the lives of the communities and in the way other people, especially their fellow Filipinos, see their worlds.
Each work of mine has people at its very core.
Rather, a community at its core.
